Julie Yegen is a Principal Research Associate with 15 years of communications experience in digital and social media strategy for federal and nonprofit public health campaigns. Her approach to social media looks beyond “top-performing posts” to focus on aligning content strategy with evolving platform algorithms. She helps teams determine how digital and social media fit within their overarching communication goals.
Yegen is currently the project director for CDC’s Division of Adolescent and School Health, and she leads social media strategy and awareness day support for CDC’s Division of HIV Prevention.
Her communications work has won awards, including a Gold MarCom Award for a teen pregnancy prevention text messaging campaign developed via design thinking incubator and a Digital Health Award for social media promoting the value of CDC’s Youth Risk Behavior Survey.
