Claire Wilson, PhD, is a Principal Research Associate for Social Policy and Economics Research. She is a social psychologist with more than 20 years of experience leading research related to health services and food and nutrition. She has designed and implemented large-scale research studies for federal agencies, such as USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service, HRSA, CMS, and AHRQ. She offers expertise in program evaluation, mixed-methods research, and data collection modalities, with a focus on traditional and emerging qualitative methods.
Wilson currently directs the study of Food Security Status and Well-Being of Nutrition Assistance Program Participants in Puerto Rico. This 5-year contract includes a representative survey of Puerto Rico households, in-depth interviews with participants and nonparticipants of the Nutrition Assistance Program, and group concept mapping to identify possible strategies for improving food security in Puerto Rico. She also serves as a Task Lead on the Commodity Supplemental Food Program Participant Characteristics and Program Operations study.
